Cape & Islands Youth Congress, 2011
The Cape Cod and Islands Youth Congress is comprised of representatives from all the high schools on Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. The Congress works to identify youth related issues, and works to respond to the needs of youth.

MVYLI Youth with State Senator Dan Wolf
On March 18, MVYLI youth joined Meagan for the 8th Annual Children, Youth and Families Summit at Barnstable High School. It was the first time that Vineyard youth participated in this one-day event. She planned presentations and produced a video on MVYLI’s Job Shadow Day that had a private showing at the Youth Summit.
Speakers at the event included: State Senator Wolf, Steve Tolman, State Senate President Therese Murray, Interagency Council on Substance Abuse and Prevention Director, William Luzier, Cape and Islands District Attorney Michael O’Keefe, Ray Tamasi, Gosnold, and Trude Avery, Maritime Academy.
